Mr. Wat ford kindly furnished and drove the car. He is a good, carefnl driver and the trip was madi"in safety. -J The road, the Calboun High WAV. between P*xr??lanH onH ftlho ?. raw is a fine stretch of roadway. This section with' the Stonewall from Pageland to Jeffercon g ires us about 40 miles of excellent highway which will be added to from time to time. ' - -W Reaching Chesterfield after dark* we found the new electric lighting plant in operation furnishing an abundance of light. In fact it seemed as if much light was being used that could be dispensed with, but then it is better lo have too much of agood thing than not enough. We congratulate our neighbor on the showing made at night with her electric lights. After about a half hour In Chesterfield the trip to Cheraw was resumed and in a short time the city on the Pee Dee was reached. The party was soon in the office of President Hanna of the .Calhoun Highway. He needs nojv in ?ruuucoion. Mr. Hanna is a very busy man and is undergoing treatment for some physical trouble, yet he finds time to Weep things moving for the highway. He is the right man in the rijght piace. [ An hour or two was pleasantly and profitably spent with Mr. Hanna and we feel that Pagel^nd ivill feel the effects in many ways of this meeting. I The return trip was quickly made and the writer thanks M r. Watford for himself and the oth r members of the party for jhis jervices. In conclusion we^vish to urg^ )ur people to get behind the &at houn Highway movement.!/Paigeand is it's headquarters nid/ime Journal is the official organ 4nu to place on the whole line of Ithe Dalhonn Highway has a beater j jpportunity of getting something ut?b'j?.*,?A,-ar**m*nfc.
