Two Crossings Across Lynchs's River Accepted The following; lettei was written last Wi dnesday by Acting: Highway Engineer Murray to County Supervisor E. R. Knight in regard to decisions as to locations for highway crossings over Lynche's river between Chesterfield and Lancaster counties: After due consideration of the proposed routes between Ches?.?1J 1 T nciu uuu l^ancasier counues, we have decided, after taking: the matter up with Lancaster county, and considering their wishes, as well as those of the people of Chesterfield County that the proper place for the bridge on the road between Lancaster County, Pageland and Jefferson, is Cook's Mill, and that for the road between Jefferson and Ker shaw, we will use Threatt's Mill as the crossing of Lynche's River for this road. I trust that this arrangement will be satisfactory to the peo_1 _ _ t - - " pie ui vour coumy as wen as those of Lancaster, for with the limited fimds at our command, it seems to me that this is the best arrangement that can be made. I am sending copy of this letter to Mr. Wallack, Editor of the Jeffersonian, Mr. Tucker, Editor of the Pageland Journal, also Dr. Gantt of Jefferson, as I am suie that these gentlemen are very much interested in knowing the decision of the Commission in regard to this matter. Very truly yours, F. H. MURRAY, Acting State Highway Engineer. Look Out, Autoists. The following is from a western paper. The writer must have meant business. Is there any one in this section who would like to make the same declarations? Here is what joe had printed: "Several times recently the life of ray wife and my own life have been placed in jeopardy by reckless automobiles, self ishly regardless of the safety of no one's life and limb but their own. To all such miserable whelps I wish to say, with all emphasis which the law will permit me to use in print, that I have provided myself with a forty-eight caliber revolver and have it loaded. When I drive out behind my old family mare and any Kansas Citv dud^ or wooden headed resident of this are any other community tries recklessly to run me down, I will, to the best of mv ability, endeavor to perforate his tires and his legs, This is no idle threat, as anyone who tests the matter will find to his sorrow. Things have come to a pretty pass when a law abiding, tax paying citizens cannot use the highway except at the risk of being killed by some lop-eared lout with a 2x4 brain and a 10x12 gall. I mean business.? T U " jwt JIC(I1ICSUU| Married at Rapid Rate.
