We should like to have an expression
from Representatives
Rivers and MacFarlan as to their
views on the proposed bill to
prevent the killing of certain
birds in South Carolina, for
some time to come.
The liquor houses are sending
out their circulars in tons.
Have you seen one of them?
Have you make use of one?
Now is the time of all times to
let it go by and remain sober for
thirtv days. There will be
plenty of others without you.
Whv not give the young soldiers
a welcome in the form of a
reception when they get back to
Pageland? We could thus show
them how glad we are that thev
are back and that they were patriotic
enough to go down and
help our Uncle Sam guard the
border so we would not have to
go.
"That's the best water in the
State," said Dr. R. L, McManus
of Chesterfield yesterday as he
pointed to the public well in the
street here where he used to
drink so freely. Doc used to
drink more of this water when
he lived here than any other
person in Town perhaps, and he
knows what he says when he
praises this water.
