"Prohibition Don't Prohibit"
The Florence Times,.which
has for many years been opposed
to prohibition and in
favor of the dispensary. It said
last Saturday.
"Occasionally you will hear it
said that prohibition does not
prohibit, but that the dry states
sell more whiskey than ever
before. Well,'1 that is not so.
The prohibition people know it
is not so for when prohibition is
tried the temperance people like
it The liquor people know
that it is not so for wherever
prohibition is tried they don't
like it. and do their best to defeat
it. Prohibition does prohibit.
It is just about effective
as most other good laws. And
that's what's the matter with it
in the eyes of the people who
want liquor."
