Too much cotton is being: ?i

Plenty of corn, pota oes, peas, ^

You can't eat cotton, neither
can old Beck. Why then do you b
want more cotton than every "
thing else combined?

More cane should be planted ^
in this section. Why do we buv ^
r>ld cheap, tarry molasses and ^
gummy syrups made of chemi
cals and pay the freight and the ^
dealer's profits when we could
so easily make our own molas ^
ses and have it pure? ^
Wiien cotton climbed to 10 j,
cents, the farmers quickened 'j
their pace and began asking for c
more fertilizer. Eyeiy year n
about planting time the price of j n
cotton climbs up a few notches'j,
and the poor"*fellow who was 0
obliged to sell back in the fall; r,

us to learn the trick? v

Frank Loses in Supreme Court.
Washington, April 19.?Leo
M Frank, under death sentence
For the murder of Mary Phagan,
an Atlanta factory girl, lost
another step in his fight for life
in the supreme court of the
United States today.
In a decision, to which Justices
Holmes and Hughes digsented,
the court dismissed
Frank's appeal from the federal
court of Georgia which refused
to release him on awrit ol
habeas corpus.
Frank contended that alleged
"mob violence*' at his trial and
the fact that he was abseht from
the court room when the jury
returned its verdict had re
moved him from the jurisdiction
of the courts of Georgia.
^he mojority opinion of the
supreme court rejected all these
contentions and declared Frank
had enjoyed all his legal righti
in the Georgia courts.
Seemingly, no other avenue
of escape from the death penalty
is open to Frank through the
courts. The state pardon officials
might relieve him.
