Some Narrowness Pays.

One of ihe best things to do
right now is to get so busy doing
things as to have little or no
time to indulge in acrimonious
discussion of any of the perilous
subjects with which the time
abounds. It is time to clean up,
to paint up, to plow, to plant, to
build and to invest. lie who
may not sow a field may plant a
garden or a tree.
Planting a tree is really a public
service, too, whether the tree
is planted by the roadside or on
private property. The trees in a
given locality have a profound
and beneficial effect on the climate.
And as '.lie Irees are
claimed bv the needs of model n
industry they ought to be renew
ed in yards, by roadsides, on
waste lands and whenever possible.
The man in early life who
plants a grove on w aste land and
keeps it is depositing in the bank
of nature and will he able in old (
age to draw a surplus to insure
slippered ease.
Those who invest in lands and t

nomes are garnering a stake in
the community ami opening to
themselves new vistas from (
which to view the problems of \
commonwealth life and progress.
Moreover they :;r? providing
against the time when energies
flag and rest from labor is a
necessary thing.
Those who cultivate die soil, j
whether it be nature's own or |
the soil of business, are not onrly
aiding themselves but are lightening
the load of the community.
