We should be very sorry to
criticise any one unjustly, and
we realize that the management
of the Chesterfield & Lancaster
road has been embarrassed for
about two months because of
the unusually heavy traffic, but
it does seem that some arrangements
should have been made
and announced to accommodate
the great number of people at
this end of the line who desired
to attend field dav at Chesterfield
last Saturday. Persistent efforts
were made to get definite information
as to schedules on that
day, but until late Friday after,
noon no one at this end knew
whether or not there would be a
train Saturday morning. About
sunset it was given out that ?
there would be a train at five (
o'clock Saturday moining. To (

to go, fifty five persons got the t
news that the train would run, I
got up and to the station through c
the darkness and rain and hoarded
that coach, despite the fact n
that thirteen freight cars were i

lantern had to be hung up to
light the coach. ^
The Journal was anxious to f
