Mr. B. Croft Pigg, who is j
teaching at Bethesda, spent a few t
days at home last week. He is ?
just out from a case of measles, \
and his school was stopped two
weeks because of the epidemic ^
in the community.
Dr. J. W. Babcock, who has (
been superntendent of the state '
hospital for the insane for 25 1
years, has resigned, and together
with Dr. Eleanor B. Saunders, 1
the lady assistant, has opened a 1
private sanitarium in Waverly, a
suburb of Columbia. Four pa- <

first day. Dr. T. J. Strait, of
Lancaster, has been appointed
by Gov. Blease to fill Dr. Babcpck's
place in the hospital for
