The following exquisite lines were composed by the youthful ptCtCs MARGA. iut-rMt.LLER DAVIDsoN, when only in her eighth year. She was born in Pltitsburg, N. Y. and died at the same place, the 22,1 -of November, 1838, in the sixteenth year of her age. She was sister to Lucretia Maria Davidson,' the authoress of" Amir K han, and other Poems." A brief account of the intellectual developments o the au thor of the suljoined lines, mray not be un interesting to the readers of the ,Ban ner." "In her childhood," remarks a coptem. porary writer, " she exhibited a thought fulness of character, and a reflective mind. which, to strtingers, seeied beyond her years.'
