We find on examination of tlio books of the J reasurer that the income of Ker shaw C\'Unfy for the fiscal year 18d8-9, for County purposes, was about $-'2, OuO, and the expenditure, ns near us the committee could ascertain, are between $1,500 and $2,000 inure than that sura. The committee was informed that this state of th ngs hid been in duration for some years and would continue so year after year unless an adlitiunal tax was levied, or rigid system of economy inaugurated in every branch of the County government. The books of all the Trial Justices of Kershaw County, with the exeeptioa of those of Messrs C. L Winkler and J. J. Nelso-, were presented to us for examination. That of Mr J. W.
