A South Carolina farmer stands
at the head so far in the race for.
the largest yield from an acre of
corn. The yield is 254 bushels and
49 pounds, and the farmer is Mr.
Z. T. Drakes, of Drakes post office,
Marlboro County. Capt. Drake is a
competitor in the contest for the
$500 prize offered by the American
Agriculturalist for the largest yield

State Board of Agriculture will add
$500 more if won by a South Carolina
planter.
