In reference to our remarks upon
Mr. Brayton's address, we stated
that "we knew many of his charges
to be true, and we believed that the
others t^rro." "We still stand to the
statement. Instead of being abused
for telling what everybody knows is
a glaring truth, honest men ought to
assist us iu exposing the frauds, and
thus endeavor to stamp them out,
As to the Independent movement,
if what we said was incorrect, whyis
it that, the men who deny it do not

As to our article upon the notion of
Governor Ricbnrdsou in reappointing
