Resolved, That the Cnmden Democratic
C'ub, in reorganizing for tlie coming campaign.
steadfastly adhere to ihc principles
and pledges of the Democratic party as contained
in the State platform of 1870.
Resolved, That this club heartily endorses
the nuministration of Wade Hampton Governor
of Seuili Oarolina, and that his renomination
and re-election to the office of
Governor is essential to the future perma
nent welfare of the State, and is therefore
of the first importance.
Retolved, That harmony and unity in o ir
ranks are indispensably necessary to our
success in the coming campaign and with a
view to this end we shall discountenance all
independent candidates and shall treat
them as enemies in disguise.
Retailed, That it is the paramount duty
of every Democrat toetnnd squarely hy the
oarlv and to work unceasingly for its sue
cess and that we can regard no man as a
true Democrat who is not willing to sink
bis personal prejudices and sacrifice his
personal preferment for the success of the
party.
There bcin^ no further business, the
club adjourned to meet again on Tuesday
evening the lGth of April, at 8
