C.: The follo\fing is a correct statement of the cotton raised by Stevens it C'ureton on 1J acres of J stubble land, which was manured with 400 pounds of Carolina Fertilizer. The following is the mode of cultivation: it was thoroughly broken up 18 inches deep, and laid oil in rows three and ] a half feet wide, and the fertilizer applied in the drill, then bedded on it on the 10th ol May, and planted the same day, but owing to the cool and dry weather, did not come up to a stand un- ! til about the 1st of June First working it was run around with a half shovel and partially j trimmed out with a hoe.
