the Baltimore Sun gives the following as tlio
result of the deliberations of the special Committee
of thirteen. He says it was agreed to
unanimously on Thursday last It is known
however, that Senators Dickinson, Berrien and
Mason were all in Charleston on that day:
There are to be but three bills, as I understand.
The first bill embraces California, the

eition, thus disposing of all these topics iu one
act.
.. The second bill alters and amends the fugitive
slave act of 1797, iu such a manner as to
give effect to the Cnustitntioual provisions on
the sebject, and at the same time to comply
frith the reasonable feeling and opinion of the .
Northern people. The provisions are simple
and efficient
The third hill extends the law of Maryland,
as it existed five years ago, over this District, ,
and by the provisions of the same, the slave i
marts of this District will be broken up, and the i
introduction of slaves for sale prohibited.
Here is the California scheme. It was agreed
to unanimously?at least do dissent was expressed
by any of the committee. I am Confident
that it will be supported by two-thirds of
the South.
Mr. Bamurn, of tlie American Museum has
engaged apartments at the Irving House, New
York, for Jenny Lind, Julius Benedict, Esq.,
Signor Belletti and their suite, to be held in
readiness on and after die 10th of September
next
Judge Parsons of the Court of Common '
Pleas in Philadelphia, has decided, in relatiou |
to the accounts of the Trustees of the Bank of ,
the United States, adversely to the claims of
Messrs. Huths, of l?ondon, Hope, of Amster- <
dam, the Rothschilds, and other foreign credit- '
rs, in consequence of not presenting their <
claims withiu thirty dap after no! ice by the '
Trustees, of their intentioa to distribute the <
foods. ^ I

The city of Cincinnati pays $T50 per week for
cleaning her streets.
The Boston Tiroes is out against the verd'ct of
the jury in the case of Dr. Webster. It is alone
in this course among the press ot that city.
The Arkansas Penitentiary was recently partially
consumed by fire. The prisoners Were all
safely removed to the county jail of Little Rock.

Kor about twenty years I had been (offering from Dyspop ia.
Every year tho lymptom* became wor*e, nor could I
obtain |?rma'nent relief from any courte of medical treatment
whatever. About fourteen year* iince, in consequence of
freqnent exposure to the weather, in the discharge of my pastoral
duties, I became subject to a severe Chronic Rheumatism,
which for year alter year, caused me indescribable
anguish. Farther: in the winter of '43 and '46, in consequence
of preaching a great deal in my own and various other
churches in this region, I was attacked by the Bronchitis,
which soon became so severe as to require an immediate suspension
of my pastoral labors. My nervous system was now
