Mr. Atchinsoii presented the memorial of the i.egisl.tureof
Missouri against the ICilmot Proviso, J
saying that the aggressions of the North have re- .
leased the South from the compromise, hut for the
sake ol peace they are willing for that compromise '
to be extended. Mr. Benton opposed the printing .
of it, affirming that it was not the sentiment of a i
majority of the people of Missouri. Mr. Atchinsoii
said that it was they would nisnife<t. whenever 1
an opportunity offered.
The Senate adjourned till to-morrow.
