and unanimously adopted:
Resolved, That this Division with a feeling of
gratified pride, has received from the fair Ladies
of Luncasterville, so l>eautiful a gift as the ItiSethis
night presented.
Resolved, That the (hanks of the Division are
tendered to the Ladies for this evidence of their
approval of our course.
Resolutions of thanks to the hand were also
passed, and other business done.

Our Court is in session, and during this week,
thus far, (Thursday) we have initiated twenty
' two Sons, and we expect more. The Division
now numbers one hundred and twenty. Pretty

flourishing condition, and that a good, sound

the W. l\, W. F. 13. Haynsworlh, introduced
^ the speakers, in a lew hut very appropriate remarks,
to the crowded and enthusiastic audience.
The Addresses both of Mr. Caston and
of Mr. ttrown, who by invitation addressed the
Meeting, were replete with eloquence and argument
and well worthy of themselves and ol
the cause lor which they were pleading. We
legrel that our space does not allow us to give
our readers a more extended account of them.
When the meeting was about closing a member
of the Order from Virginia, arose and in a
few remarks, told its history in his native country,
and passed a glowing compliment, upon the
zcul which he witnessed on the occusoin.
* The procession was, as usual, a very large
one and every thing which was weli calculated
to grutily the friends of temperance in our District.?Sumter

The Cotton market to-day was quiet, the
sales amounting to only 400 bales at 11 1-2 fur
Fair Uplands, and 11 3-4 a 12 for Fair Orleans.

The private advices by the America are more
favorable in regard to Cotton than the publishi
ed accounts. The Havre Cotton market was
steady at 76 a 99f. for Orleans, aud 79 a lUOf.
