A gentleman in the South ol Europe, and Palestine, in '
1830 heard so much said in the latter place in favor of Jew I
David's Plaster, and of the (as he considered.) miraculous
cures it had performed, that he was induced to try it on 1

been the chief object of his journey, but which Lad |
resisted the genial influence of tiiat balmy and delicious !
clime.
He accordingly applied a plaster on the right side of his i I
chest, where the pain was seated, another between the J I
shoulders, and one over the region of the liver. Ill the '
meantime he drank freely ofan herb tea of luxative qua!- '
lties. He soon found tiis health improving, and in a few
weeks his cough left him. sallowness of his skin disa|>- '
peared. his pain was removed, and his health became permanently
reinstated.
Since that time he has been recommending it to his
friends and acquaintances for all fixed pains whatever
such as Rheumatism, (<0111, Pain in the side, hip, hack r
and limbs, in every case of wuich it has proved an efli- j t

blood to the |'arts. Sometimes the inner coat of the bowel
protrudes at every evacuation forming what is called
Prolapsus, or falling of the bowels; this isthe e fleet of long
continued irritation of that orean. In some instances the
patient experiences nervous pains, which are indescribable,

sometimes wry distressing. This disease, when of long
continuance. is attended liv pain and Weakness in the hack,
irritation of tin: kidneys, bladder, anil other organs in the
vicinity, pain and numbness in the legs and feet, a sense of
stniitness about the chest,ami unnatural fulness of the abdominal
viscera, accompanied with palpitation of the heart
and oppression. Individuals sometimes experience, previous
to an attack of the Piles, symptoms denoting great derangement
in their circulation; there is a sense of weight and
pressure in the abdomen, with a peculiar feeling of uneasiness
in the bowels, const i| Kit ion or perinncnin. attended
with pain in the back and loins, nausea, and slight pains in
the stomach, pale countenance, confused sensations in the
bead, weariness, and irritable and ilisenntenled slate ol
mind, ami a sense of fulness ami oppression in the region
of the stomach. The circulation on the surface is feeble,
and the current of blood determined inwards and downwards.
