A gentleman in the South o( Europe, and Palestine, in I
1830 heard so much raid in the latter place in favor of Jew
David's Plaster, and of the (as he considered.) miraculous
cures it had performed, that lie was induced to try it on *
his own person, for a Liver affection, the removal of which
had been the chief object of his journey, but which had '
resisted the genial influence of that balmy and delicious <
clime. I
He accordingly applied a plaster on the right side of his
chest, where tlie plain was seated, another between the
shoulders, and one over the region of the liver. In the
meantime he drank freely of an herb tea of luxative qualities.
He soon found his health improving, and in a few
weeks his cough left him, sallovvncss of his skin disappeared,
his pain was removed, and his health became per- 1
manently reinstated. ;
