THE TREATY RATIFIED.
Ry the arrival of the U. S. steamer Hetzel
at N. Orleans, we have later news from Mexico,
which we hasten to lay before our readers,

been ratified by the Senate, by a vote of 33 to

ration of the Treaty of Peace by the Mexican
Congress, and hasten to forward it to you. It
was put to rote, in the Senatp on the 25th, at 3
o'clock. The vote stood 33 for, and 4 against
if. It was reported by the Chairman of the
Committee on Foreign Relations on the 22d,
and the debate was continued by several of the
members tip to the hour of its being put on its
.. passage. Yon will see. that it did not meet with
so much opposition in the Senate as it did in the
Chamber of Deputies,

General Smith left lor Vera Cruz on the 24th,
to make preparations for embarking the troops.
All the outposts hare been ordered into this
city?they will be ready to march in three days
alter they arrive which will he in a day or two. |
General Patterson's division being the first
to more, will march in two or three days.
In ten days or less all the American army
will be on their march for the coast.
We will be hampered some with our sick, but [
this cannot be helped, as it would not do to

Querelaro with an American escort on the 22d,
at 7 o'clock. The exchange of ratifications

piihlican. of the 29th u!t. states that the St. Joseph
Gazette contains some exciting information
from the Mormon colony, bringing intelligence
that the Indians had murdered a number
of men, women and children at the City of the
Salt Lake. No cause was assigned for this
outbreak.
It would seem that the intelligence from Oregon
and the City of the Salt Lake, that the Indians
have determined upon a regular war upon
the colonies, though widely separated from
'each crtfi?r; and there is too much reason to apprehend
that many of them will be cut off before
aid can reach them.
Sir hundred wacons. containing Mormon i
emigrant*, were to leave rainp Israel, sixty-five
mile* above the Council Bluffs, on the 29th ult.
fi?r the city of the great Salt Lake.
A report is also brought to u*, that the first
United States train which left Fort Leaven"worth
this spring, was attacked by Indians at
Walnut Creek, and in the attack, twenty persons
were killed. Tlie name of Sisson
,nnd two Leroys were mentioned among the
number. We are not informed how this report
was brought to the settlements, hut we are inclined
to believe, that it is much exagerated, if
not altogether inrorrert. The Mexican*, who
came in from Santa Fe, the latter part of last
week, and lefi there on the 22d of April, made
no mention of this affair, although of sufficient
interest to have attracted their attention.

To amend an Ordinance to regulate Licenses
for Taverns, Spiritous Liquors, and Billiard 11
TablesI
Be it ordained by the Intendant and Wardens of a
the town of Camden, in Council assembled arid by "
the authority of the same, That the following
clause of the tenth section of MAn Ordinance to
regulate licenses for Taverns, Retailing Spirituous
Liquors and Billiard Tables," ratified on the
26th day of December, 1646, be, and the same is
hereby repealed:?"But, it shall be unlawful to
keep a Bar Room for ve ding Liquors or Wine6 t|
in the same building or on the premises, or in any d
adjoining building, or to permit the sa i c to be
drunk thereat. . i. o
2. That the eleventh; section of the said Ordi- ji
nance be so altered that the price of a Billiard License
shall be one hundred dollars per annum.
Ratified in Council assembled, this tenth day of
June, in tiie year of our Lord eighteen hundred and ~

Patent Water Wheels about one year applied by R.
S, Banvick, and have recently removed tliem and
had the Union Wheels applied by Mr. Cltapin ano
find the latter by far superior to the former. So
far, as I have yet tried the latter, they will saw at
least doubly as fast as the former, with much less
quantity of water, at the same mill site.

1830 heardsomuch said in the latter place in favor of Jaw

his own person, for a Liver affection, the removal of which
had been live chief object of his joonny", But which had1
resisted the genial influence of that balmy and ilebtfrni

He accordingly applied a plaster on the nghtsfcle fit\ his
cheat, where he pain was seated, anothar between! tb*
shoulders, and one over the region of the liver. In the
meantime lie drank freely of an herb tea of luiaiive, qualities.

weeks his cough left him, saliowness of his skin disappeared.
Ids pain was removed, and hi* health became permanently
reinstated.
?ince that time he has been recommending it to hi*
friends and acquaintances for all fixed pains whatever,

and limbs, in every rase of wnich it has proved an efficient
cure. He has likewise witnessed the bappy effects

Tumors, Stiff Joints, Ague Cakes, Ague in the Breast, and
the like, to tbe nnited satisfaction of himself and otbef*.
It lias been beneficial in cases of Weakness, such as pa d
and weakness ,in the Stomach, weak Limbs, Lameness

subject to pain or weakness in tb? beck or sides,
should be without it. Married ladies in delicatesiteatieos
find great relief from constantly wearing this plaster.
The application of the plaster between the shoulders has
been found a certain remedy for Colds, Coughs, Phtbysic,
and Lung Affections, in their primary stages. It destroy*
inflammation by perspiration.
