The Limestone Springs
Of Spartanburg District.
THE subscriber having rented this Establishment,

Two excellent Academies, male and fe- 1
male, where visitors may put their children
to school.
In the Hotel are large and well i-rt i
ed public rooms, a band of music attends ]

be well supplied, and abundance of ice
has been stored op fur the season.
These Springs are situated 25 miles
from Union Court House; 20 miles from
f; Spnrtanburg, 23 rhiles from Yorkville, 25
miles from Glenn's Springs, and 22 from
Wilson's White Sulphur Springs, being
the central point to them all. The waters
of the Spring are limestone, highly charged
with carbonic acid gas, and are as light,
pure, and delightful to tlte taste as water
can be. - They possess decided medicinal
virtues especially in cases of dyspepsia
and liver affections. There are besides
the limestdne, two strong chalybeate
, Springs of equal efficiency in restoring
strength anrl appetite in cases of debility.
Baths, cold and warm and shower, shall
be always ready at a moment's notice.
' < The locality is one of the most healthful
in the world. The country around it possesses
many attractions in its beautiful
scenery, its historical associations, and in
the manufactures which are springing up
around it. The battlefields of Blackstncks,
Cowpens anil King's mountain are all
- .near enmigh for a pleasant day's excursion;
and the prospect from Gelkin Mottntain
takes in a large part of fuir districts,
and embraces many views of highly picturesque
and beautiful secnery. ' l
Since the last Summer the roads leading
lo these Springs have been put in order,
and the bridges repaired and replaced, a
Tiew bridge has been built at the Nesbit
Iron Works over the Broad River, and no j
J difficulty now exists for truvellcrs?a line ,
of stages runs twice a week front Spar- }
tanburg, by those Springs, to Lincollon (
?another twice a week from Union Court (
House, and a horse mail to Yorkville. ,

hundred bales of Cotton and a supply of 1
Wood on board; is navigated by six per- 1
sons, and lias a locomotive boiler which
consumes about two cords of wood per day.
She was completed last "spring, uud bus
since been tried on the Santee, Congnree,
and Wateree Rivers," at all stages of the
water. It takes two days to go from the
Rail Road to Camden, and one day to return,
without running in the night. She
has a 6iipply of wood on board, and every
thing ready for immediate despatch.
