respectfully requested to cqmply with the
"requisitions of the 6th section of the Patrol
act passed by the Legislature, 21st
Dec., 1S39, viz: " It shall be the duty ol
the owner of each vessel or boat, navigating

to keep and produce to the Magistrates or
Patrols, who may demand it, a list of all
the ncgoes composing the crews of said
boat, with thsir owners names, and a description
of their persons." The same
section makes it the duty of the patrols,
to enter into any disorderly house, vessel,
or .boat, suspected of harboring, trafficking
or dealing with negroes, whether the
same be occupied by white persons, free
negroes, mulattoes, mustizoes, or slaves,
and to apprehend and correct all slaves

and the said Patrols are moreover authorized
and required to give information
to a Magistrate, ofsucli white persons, free
negroes, mulattoes, or mustizoes, as may

.Those employed in navigating the above
river arc further requested to observe the
3dth, 35th, 3t)th and 37th sections of the
act passed at the same time, "concerning
the office, duties and liabilities of coro
ncr" which shew the penalties of an interment
of a corpse without giving notice to
the Coroner, or if his residence is more
than 15 miles from the place the body is
found, then to the nearest Magistrate.
The above to be published by order of
the citizens of St. Jame's Parish, Snniee.

AT a conference of brethren held at
the above time and place, the subject
of holding a series of religious meetings
was considered.
After a free interchange of opinion,
it was agreed, by divine permission, to
hold the following meetings at the following
times and places.
2d. At Camden, on Friday before the
first Sunday in June.
3d. AtSuMTERViLLE, on Friday before
the third Sunday in June.
4th. At Congaree, on Friday before
the fourth Sunday in June.
5th. At Bethel, on Friday before the
jsecond Sunday in July.
Brethren Breaker and DuPre were apnoiitied-a
committee to solicit the services
of Ministering brethren at the above series
of meetings.
The meeting adjourned.

viz: a small COLT, two years old, three
white feet and blazed face. Also, a brown
bay mare PONEY, eight or nine years

back. The said estrays were left in the
