bee-We received ac >mmuuication frou
pilot Alston in regard to the grounding
of the shcooner Loud, in which he cluimi
that he was in no wise to blame for th<
vessel getting ashore. He says he gavt
orders to cast the audi or while th<
schooner was in a good anchorage bu
that the anchor was not let go iuimdiatc
1; and the vessel drifted some distance
but was at last brought up in a safe placi
and thnt she did not touch until the tid<
turned, and iu swinging, the vessel being

but was floated off on the rise of tide;
aiul that the captain found uo fault unti
another pilot came aboard, when the cap

used upon the occasion was very desisivi
and, to others besides pilot Alston, wouU
have been convincing. The matter wil
be investigated by the pilot commfssion
ers who, we doubt not, will give du<
justice to all concerned.
