Results of the Epidemic in Wilmington.
?Tho Wilmington Journal has been resumed
on a full sheet In a report on yellow fever,
it mentions tho following result of the diseaso:
Died in town (whites) 500
Died in town (colored) 150
Died out of town (whites) 30

Tho Wilmington Journal of Monday says:
There were two new cases this morning, none
on Saturday or Sunday?two burials Saturday,
one yestorday and two last night. The disease
seems to linger It ii dying'out, but it
dies hard.
Affairs in Wilmington.?We see no further
mention of the yellow fever in Wilming
ton, and presume that it has disappeared.
Gen. Whiting has assumed (fommand of the
defences of the Cape Fear Biver. The Wilmington
Journal of Thursday saye:

cavalry company rescued the crew of the
schooner John \V., Captain Salter, loaded with
salt, and run ashore near M?ore's Inlet, to avoid
tho blockaders. They reported that a boat
load of Yankees had landed to burri the schooner
which they succeeded in doings Captain
| Newkirk, with a portion of his company, pro*
ceeded to the beach and captured one Acting
I Master* two Midshipmen and ten privates.
Two nogros, belonging to the schooner, hav(
ing gone to the Yankees, were taken at the
I same time* The prisoners were brought in
here yesterday, in charge of a guard under
I command of Lieut. C. W. McClammy, and
M carried before Gen. Whiting. The Yankees
were ordered to be sent to Richmond this
I morning. The negros will be placed in their |
\ proper sphere*
