On Tbntsday evening, the oHizeos of Trenton
gave him an overwhelming demonstration. He
responded in a speech, which was frequently

The London Times says that the Federals
are justified in a vigorous prosecution of the
right of search in the Bermuda waters, where
the contraband traffic is so brisk. The Times'
city article says that Lord Lyons took out full
assurances that while England will be eager, in
conceit with other nations, to adopt any step
to effect a permanent peace, she will, meanwhile,
individually, refuse to depart ono hair's
breadth from the course of non-intervention.
The Times is glad to see the Democrats making
a show of force at the North, and believes
that their success will bo a most promising
symptom of peace.
