SEVERAL REGIMENTS OF TIIE MILITIA OF
this ?Stato having failed to elect officers under provisions
of General Order No. 127, of date January 2,
1^12, heretofore issued from this ollicc, it is hereby
ordered:
That elections for Regimental Battalion, Squadron,
and Company Officers, of such portions of the Militia
as have not yet held flections, or been since ordered
to do so, bo held on SATURDAY, the 22d day of February,
18G2, and returns thereof bo made, in accordance
with the provisions of the Act of the General Assembly,

X. this day adopted in a inectinjr of the Governor
and Council, and ordered to bo published:
JRevolved, That all owners of slaves removed from '
the scr-board shall 1 >o and they are hereby required to |
place said slaves under the control of some white man
resident for the time in the immediate neighborhood of 1
the slave thus removed, and that upon failure so to j
place them, the said owner shall be liable to a penalty i
of ten dollars per head for every slave so situated for |
every period of ono mouth that said slaves shall be I
left without such control. I
