Nashvilli.e, January 7.?It was reported at
Bowling Green, yesterday, tliat 4000 of tlie
enemy were at Brownsville, ami that their
eavilry scouts, 000 in nunil?er, had driven in
some 30 Confederate pickets. Capt. Eaton
deserted from Lincoln's armv at Calhoun, and
reached llopkinsvillc on the night of the 31st
nit. Four other deserters came in the night of
the 1st inst. They report that the Yankee
armv at Calhoun is rapidly becoming demoralized.
Desertions occur daily ; threats of
mutiny are openly and defiantly made, and
general dissatisfaction pervades the army. The
men would desert by thousands if they could.
