Many extravagant rumors have prevailed at Staunton for the past few days in relation to Johnson's movements at Alleghany Mountain, and the approach of the enemy. Nashvilli.e, January 7.?It was reported at Bowling Green, yesterday, tliat 4000 of tlie enemy were at Brownsville, ami that their eavilry scouts, 000 in nunil?er, had driven in some 30 Confederate pickets. Capt. Eaton deserted from Lincoln's armv at Calhoun, and reached llopkinsvillc on the night of the 31st nit. Four other deserters came in the night of the 1st inst. They report that the Yankee armv at Calhoun is rapidly becoming demoralized. Desertions occur daily ; threats of mutiny are openly and defiantly made, and general dissatisfaction pervades the army.
