VIII. .The currency of the United States, declared
hy the Congress of the Utilled States to
.be adegal tender in the payment of all debts,
dues and demands, shall be so recognized in
Uorth and South Carolina. And all cases in
'which the same shall be tendered in payment,
and refused by an publio offieer, -'will be at
once reported to these headquarters or to the
Commanding.Officer of the l'oet within which

IX. Property of an absent debtor, or one
charged aa such, ^without fraud, whether consisting
of money advanced for the purposes of
agriculture, or appliances for the cultivation of
