604 shots were fired at Fort Sumter,
of which 419 struck in*i<le and outside.
The east wall is much scaled and battered

private was wounded.
On Sunday the land batteries of the enpmy
opened from couth to north, and the

up. The fire was rery damaging. The
past wall is cracked and breached, and
shot sweep through the fort. A shell j

and Col. Rhett, CtpUin Fleming and
Lieut.a. Sv-on'on and Fickiing slightly.
The fort is now a ruin.
Col. Rhett is onlerei, with hia brave

forlorn hope, until relieved or taken. On
Saturday, at Wagner, a lji<*ut. and four
men, of the siege .train, were wounded.
On Sunday tho brave Lieut. Col. Gillard
lost his left hand. To-day twenty-three

Monitors, <fcc.; thirteen are outside
the hnr.

11 o'clock on Sunday, giving .notice that
at tl o'clock p. in. to-morrow he wonld
