Both IInure continued to meet and ad
journ for wail' of a quorum for nearly a
week. There was a quorum present in
the House on Saturday, tlio 20th ult., and
the Senate having adjourned the day be
fore to Monday , the 28ili, on thnt day both
Houses assembled, tliero being a quorum
in cach to do business, and wtfnt into fe
rret session. In the evening, after some
discussion, the ordinance adopting the Con.
nlitutiou of the Confederate Staten of
jinn in-,1, ami mafng ?\iisfouri amoml'ir
thereof, was passed. It was not an ordi
nance of secession. The storm of revolu
tion which hail swept for months previous
all over this fair State Imd broken every tie
that bound her to the iniquitous Black
Republican Government, the United States I

nouiieci to tiio camp and surrounding ;
country by tho firing of eminent that sent j
their hoarse voices to the distance of forty- I
five miles,, echoing and re-echoing among !
the thousand hills and valleys of the South
