The result is entirely satisfactory. I hare made at least from 450 to 600 lbs. to the awe oo this very poor land. I expect to purehaee from 5 to 8 tons for my Spring crop. Ruing iu the circulation, at pervades the whole body, and may bunt ?tit iu disease on any part of it. No organ is free from iU attacks, nor is there ono which it mcr not destroy. The scrofulous taint is variously causcd by mernurihl disease, low llvinr, disordeted ot unhealthy food, impure air, mtb and filthy habits, the depressing vices, and, above all, by the venerial infection. Whatever be iU origin, it is hereditary in the constitution descending "from parents to children unto the third and fourth eeueration:" indeed, itaetm* to be the rod of Uim who Bayi, -I will visit the iniquities of the fathers upon their children." Its effects commence by difposition from *h? blood of corrupt or ulcerous matter, which, in thu lungs, liver, and internal organs, is tanned tubercles ; in t he glands, swellings ; and on the sin face, eruptins or sores This foul corruption, which genders in the blood, depresses the energies of life, bo ? hat scrofulous constitutions not only suffer from scrofulous complaints, but they have far leas power to withstand the attacks of other diseases; consequently, v*st numbers perish by disorders which ?l?hnn<?h not scrofulous in their nature, are still rendered lutal t>y this taint in tlic system. Most of the consumption which dccimates the human family has its origin directly in this contamination ; and many destructive diseases of the liver, kidney*.
