A Half Century Sermon.
We call the attention ot our readers to
the fact that we have published the
semi-centennial sermon of the Rev. Joseph
R. Walker. D. D., rector of St.
Helena Episcopal Church of Beaufort
The price is twenty-five cents, and as all
the profits of the pub ication are to go
to the benefit of the venerable church,
we hope none of them will remain long
on hand. They are for sale at Dr.
Stuart's Drug store and at this office.
See advertisement.
Artificial Stone Pavements.
We call the attention of all to tlie
advertisements of the Southern Artificial
Stone Company. We have seen a great
ileal of this pavement recently laid in
Columbia, where it is univorselly admired.
It seems to combine all the
qualities desired in a good pavement.
By-the-bye, it would be just the thing
for walks in our National Cemetery*.

A new trial has been demanded.
*^^ihhiver Pilots.?The commissions
of pilotage of St. Helena sound
and Port Royal, S. C., recognizing the
great increase of trade at those points,
have wisely added to the staff of pilots.
The fine yacht Secret has been t>urchascd
more especially for piloting on St.
Helena bar. which will be under the
command ofCapt. Samuels, and manned
by a competent staff. There being now
two pilot boats the Louly and Secret, at
St. Helena Sound, there will be fewer
complaints from captains of vessels chartered
for the phosphate rivers.
