attend at Statebufg ort the 3d. and 4th.
at Sumterville on the 5th. and at Cox's

purpose of receiving the entry of carria
ges, with the harness used therefor, a$rea
bly to an act of Congress, passed the ft f
tcenth day of December 18 14. For failing '
to do which, a prrialty of double the amount

"be incurred ; and also, for the purpose of
receiving applications for and granting
licenses to Retailers and Distillers.

do not make entry thereof previous to the
~OiU of June next, wiH be double taxed
and prosecution commenced against them
indiscriminately : Also, against all Retail
ers and Distillers \vho shall not obtain Li
censes from the Collector of the Revenue
previous to that time. Having bten or
dered to "receive payment fiom those who -
did not pay for their '^prriages, Stills, or
Retailers Licenses last^rear, where there
appears to have been no intentions of de
frauding the Revenue. Those who have
not paid, are hereby called upon to avail
themselves of the benefit *ot this order, on
or before the 31st of July next, or they
will he dealt with rigorously as persons
who have intentionally, and fraudulently J
evaded payment.

named JACOB, abojtf 40 years old, up
wards of five feet high, spare made, with
most of his foreteeth out. Had on when
he went away, a pale blue mixt coat, brown
pantaloons, very muoh \vorn. Jacob is
well kno^n in Columbia, where he resided
last winter in the care of one Mr. Brown#
He formerly lived near Salisbury, N. C*
and probably may have taken that direc
tion* He was purchased of one Rich
mond pierson, in "Roan County.
Any person who will lodge him in any jail,
and give in formation so that the subscriber
gets him, sftall receive the above reward
with all reasonable expences. Any infor
mation left with the Printer of this Gazette
will be received.
