went to the jury, his llvnor charging that
the ease bad been fully tnade out, that Mr. 0.

payment, subject to the rale which the juries
had adopted of sealing to one half- The jury
retired, and soon returned e rcrdict of $111.00
?one half of tho reward end interest.
Thus has terminated a ease commenced nine
i yesrs ego, baring been suspended by the war
and the crowded state of the Court Dockets
since. The present Council, oi which Mr.
Gowsn is a member, having, like their predecessor?,
declined the responsibility of deciding
the claim, its adjudication by an impartial
jury, guided by an enlightened Judge, is calculated
