The Edyjidd Advertiser in commenting
on the General Assembly taking a rcces?

another proof that they are not only un
blushing knaves but intolerable fools.'
As the members of the legislative receive
an annual salary and as the attaches do
not receive any p u* when the recess i>

knavery comes in, but then democratic
journals charge knavery on general principles.

harmless but very natural amusement,
and as they have the balance of twenty
five days in which ta lay on the agony
for the past actions of the legislature
before that body gives them, in thei;

Jacksonville.?Florida has literally l>e
couio the modem Mecca for tourists, inva

first it possesses rare attractions in its <ii'

numerous lakes, great and small affording
the finest hunting and fishing

its matchless climate, equaled by none,
and more equable than any in the world.
For the thi;d class, the laud in some portions
is all that a farmer con11 wish?rich

the above requisite*, making it the finest

JACKSONVILLE.
As everybody and his next door neighbor
knows, or is supposed to know, much
of this thriving little city, I may not say
much that is new. There is a northern
energy about it and a go-ahead-ativenoss
that presages an early and great nrosper-1

the mean temperature was in Js7>'74a
fraction less than sixty-five degree- Fahrenheit.

boarding houses their nauie is legion for !
the necessity of travel! era compels nearly
every house to be one. Notwithstanding
this during the season accommodations
for visitors are far from adequate !
ami larger and still finer hotels are being
projected. A close estimate of the number
of visitors during the season of 1874'

tourists and many as settlers, to j urchase
