will keep the grafts fiom falling on the
ground, and cover sufficiently deep to keep
from freezing. Slocks from threefourihs
to an inch in diameter are the best size to
graft to. Cut them .square off", lour or five,
inches above the ground. Split them down
in the centre, an inch and a half. Cut the
graft very evenly in a wedgu shape, having
the outer side rather the thirkiwi iinnn
the stocks with a knife ami put in the graft.
Be careful that you make tho seamsol he

Cut the graft uf:i proper length, .-o as not to
have more than two buds on it. Make a
centcnt of seven parts English rosin, two of

them well together, and cover tho wound over

the split well down on both sides.
Where you insert the graft, leave no part
of the wound uncovered as thick us a ten

coal, then quench it. Mix the coal with
honey or molasses, to the consistency of

The honey or molasses is healing to the
tender and excorciated bowels. It*the flux
appears to slop too suddenly, give very small
doses of castor oil or other mild laxative,
or nore freely of honey or molasses; but a

or molasses are gently laxative, and charcoal

astringent. This medicine has cured many
hopeless cases, under common treatment,

pieces cut in two and examined, and when
found to be tainted, pulverised charcoal
and n free application of salt should be used
and the affected picccs re-packed by themselves.
