The undersigned having been appointed
a committee, by a meeting of citizens held
in the vicinity of Greenwood for the purpose
of adopting measures to cs'ublish
Male and Female Academies in said village,
to advertise for 'JYuchers in the sun
veral departments, would inform all who
may desire to engage in teaching, that they
will receive applications until tnc lOtli ot
November next. Three are wanted?three
competent instructor*, viz: In the Male
school, a teacher who is qualified to prepare
young men for College; in the female
Academy, u male teaeher well qualified
to instruct in the highest branches of
education would be preferred, but applications
will also be received from female
teachers of experience for this department;

Abbeville District, that an ELECTION
will be held at the following places on the
SECOND MONDAY and TUESDAY
in OCTOBER NEXT, lor a Representative
in Congress, also for a Senator, to
supply the vacancy occasioned by the resituation
of Dr. A. B. Arnold, whose term
of office will be the unexpired time for
which the said A. B. Arnold was elected,
