Off the Track.
As the down train on the Caaulen
Branch was Hearing Klngnvllle on last
Tuesday morning a truck on one of the
coachea broke, and falling frOm the track
over the embankment, precipitated the
floor of the coach to the track. Some
distance was run by the train before it
oouId be stopped. Fortunately no acci
dent to persons was received. The train
returned to Camden about 3:20 p. ui.
and left again at 4, on schedule time.

ly held a meeting at which several new

We understand that It Is quite likely
that the wldte graded school In Camden
will be closcd In a week or two lor want
of funds to sustain it. We regret tiila
exceedingly. Last summer strong ef
forts were made to raise money by pri
vate subscriptions to enable this school
to be continued after the public funds
bhould be exhausted; but there seems to
have boon a sudden collapse of the pro
ject from some cause or other.
It In now proposed to raise sufficient
funds to continue the servk) 6 of Mr
Schoeuberg and perhnps one assistant
The editor of Thk Gaxktts has already
secured nearly $200 for that purposo,
much of which has been subscribed by
person* who have no ohildrcn to send to
the school4 but who have a strong desire
to keep open the school with a view to
establishing a tlrst-ciass graded school
by private means during tue next school
