whole bill passed, and, after a long and
hitter opposition In the tieuate, passed
that body on Friday, the day after tho
reoort of the Post Ottloe. Appropriation

many letters thanking him for his in
terest In tho matter, and also from asso
ciations and public bodies with resolu
