Wo do not feel discounted Hboiit tlie
future Of Camden. The bridge lius been
built utid 1b of vast service to us. It Is
an enterprise that reflected credit on the
parties who mawfully took hold of and
pushed It through. It showed pluck
and .energy. This is the right spirU
with which to .yj.dertake to develop en
terprise. T.lie survey of the Palmetto
Railroad is being pushed and the engi
neer with his corps is within a lew miles
of the town. This is an enterprise which
should engage our most earnest atten
tion, and we trust It inay be pushed with
energy and determination. The town
cannot Issue bonds to assist In (lie build
ing of lbs road until power is granted
by <tlie Legislature, ?ud application
should be made to litis end at Iho next
session. The town is out of debt and
there is no more worthy enterprise than
this. We understand that lliore Is some
prospect of u hotel being built on an up
town lot. It may be only a ruiuor as
| yotj byt the fjict that such nnj idea is in
I vogue is encouraging. Enterprises bc

1 have faith ultimately in having a factory
