Hr. Jordan was well known toe great
many of our citizens. In the Western
?action of the county, where he resided,
he wm a popular and Influential man.
By energy and Intelligent Industry he
had accumulated a considerable proper

He always took an Interest In, und gave
substantial help to, any enterprise which
promised to adyapoc the welfare of the

the stormy political scenes of tho last
few years, he wus always found In the
lead, and was nominated us n candidate
for the legislature at the election of lust
year, a position to which ho would doubt

For several months past Mr. Jordan
gave signs of falling health, but It was
thought that his uppnritutly vigorous
constitution, which hod not been Im
paired by previous attacks of Blckness,
would soon bear him safely through,

to follow his aged and venerable father,
