On laBt Friday morning, as the Steamer
Lillington was on her down trip to Acton,
and when about three-quarters of a mile
from Sumter's Landing, she struck a snag,

I am sorry to report the death of two of
our valued oitiiens. Mrs. Kllen MoKcntie
diod on Wednesday, the 27th tilt., and Mrs.
Jos sic Sklnnec, who died on the 81st; both
of consumption, Stokes' bridge is finished,
and it wa* turned over to the County
Commissioners last Saturday. The oontrno
tors had been engaged just three weeks in
