EVER since my "Aromatic Schiedam Schnapps"
?the purest anil best Gin (or medical purposes
?became fully appreciated throughout this country,
[ have been constantly sjlicited by druggists, apothecaries,
and large numbers ol'tho most eminent physisians,
in all parts of the Union, to add to my Gin importations
pure Brandies and Wines, and to bottle
hem the same as I am and iiavcbeen doing with the
Schnapps; to sea! with my seal and give my ccrtiti
;nlo guarantying their undoubted purity.
I should loug ago have endeavored to comply with.
,he flattering requests, but 1 found it impossible to
lo so, especially in regard to tlie important articles of
Sratidt, Pott and Madeira Wines, owing to the high
trices in Europe, occasioned by short grape crops for

Another point in my favor is (his: the duty now on
French Brandy in 70 per cent, less than it was when
my medical friends began to solicit me lo furnish pure
Brandy and Wines. These favoring circumstances
liavc enabled me to commence a new enterprise. * I
lin ve concluded to import Cognac Brandy and Wines,
lo bottle thorn for medical as well as for private use.
r am well aware, from the bitter experience, tlio vile
attacks, the misrepresentation of mativcR aud enmity
of dealers and mixers of bad articles which I met with
and conquered in the case of my Schnapps beloro it
obtained its present proud pre-eminence overall oilier
Sins, that the new enterprise will be attended with
r:qmsl opposition, more trouble, and involve an immense
outlay of capital. These difficulties and expenses
will be much greater, because I shall have to
sneounter thenialignity and enmity of countless thou
sands who are engaged in tiro liquor trade, and making
fortunes by the manufacture ol infamous imitations
of 'Brandy" rnado from poisonous compounds?their

of course speedy death to the feeble invalid, or those
in whoso behalf eminent physicians have urged upon
me the importation of a pore, invigorating article of
Brandy. I shall do, in spilo of all opposition, even
that of the dealers and sellers of the stuff in bottles
called "Brandy," of which millions of bottles are annually
sold, and which is no better than the worst of
poisons.
I am perfectly willing and well satisfied to embark
in this new enterprise, and have no fears, no doubt
about the most ultimate success for myself and the
druggists and apothecaries in the ihirty-thrco States,
if they will heartily co-operate itli me in my efforts
to drive out of use the vilest of compounds, called
1 Brandy," and replace it with the pure, tirfadulterated
article, which I will faithfully and truly supply.
The medical virtues of pure French Brandy need
not bo told. The Brandy imported ley me I will bottle,
seal with my Seal, my label, and add my certificate
that it is of the first quality, and pure and un
adulterated as when it left the distillery in France.
I will stake my reputation as a man, my standing
as a merchant, and rny tried commercial integrity, Ihnt
what 1 pledge and certify to with my seal, my label,
and my certificate is correct, and can be relied upon
by purchasers in any section of the Union to which
my Braedy may bo sent I have made arrangements
with the best Brandy manufacturers iu France, with
those who have a world wido renown as the first
Brandy exporters. I have selected four eminent firms
who will siiip'me their Brandies I shall not designate
the article by any other name than Wolfe's Genuine
Cognac Brandy. II 1 were to do otherwise it
would lie useless, for then unprincipled persons, who
are incessantly engaged in tho nefarious traffic of imitating
all valuable articles, would s??ou imitate mid
adopt my mark as a cloak under which to sell their
compound of poisons to cover the vile imposition.
I am now prepared to receive and execute ordo-s
for Wolfe's Genuine Cognac Brandy addressed to me,
No.?2 Beaver street. t'rices will "be given to personal
application, or in reply to ieiters.
In this ciicular I nave thus far written mainly about
pure Cognac Brnudy; I have now to call your atten
lion to other liquors and wines.
I am prepared to supply orders for "Jamaica Bum,"
imported and bottled by tue; also, "Irish and Scotch
Whiskey." The purity and genuineness of the last
named articles, imported lor "medical use," I will
also guaranty with my seal, my label and my certificate.
I shall also import tho purest and best "Madeira,"
"l'ort" and "Sherry" Wines for medical purposes.?
Tbeso I also guaranty with my seal, my label and my
certificate.
In conclusion permit, mo to add that I shall lie hop
py to hear from those tl.at this circular reaches, owl
whose personal or pecuniary interests it may effect,
in the combination of articles that I engage to supply.
Should any such person visit Now York?especially
o Druggist, Apothecary or I'liysiciun?I shall be most
happy to receive a personal call.
There is no importer who possesses more actual experience
awl knowledge of the importing liquor and
wine trade than I do; I have been engaged iu it over
thirty years.
I have narrated soipe facts connected witli my new
