tion that the latter would "guarantee the
vote of the North Carolina delegates to
the next national convention for him"?
Wilson; terming him the -'leaky member
of the Senate" in reference to the secrets
of executive sessions, etc. These con?
tinuous bitter assaults upon Wilson
indicate that the White House people
deem him a dangerous rival of Grant's
for the next Presidential nomination, and
amount to a confession that the- President ,"
is still an aspirant for a third term.

whom a petition has been tiled for in?
voluntary bankruptcy, it was ordered
thut the creditors show cause on or be?
fore 13th instant why they should not
accept fifty per cent, composition. In
the matter of Johnston, Crews A Co.,
bankrupts, it was ordered that a meeting
of the creditors of the said Johnston,
Crews A Co., be held at the office of
Messrs. Simons & Siegling, (15 Broad
street, Charleston, S. C, on "Tuesday, tho
13th instant, at 11 o'clock A. M., to con?
sider a proposal of composition to be
submitted to the creditors by the said
bankrupts.
