Gen. Albert Pike has recovered from Mexico $50,000 in gold for the 'families of Generals Parsons and Standish. These Generals were ex-Confederates in the service of Mexico, and fell by the hands of guorillas. An, actor being recently absent from rohearsal, the stage-manager said he must bo fined. "But before he is lined he must be found," suggested the low comedy actor of I the company. A' good man died in Georgia, nud the order to which ho belonged "resolved, that the Lord, for some reason to the undersigned un? known, has removed Brother Jones," etc. A sharp talking lady was re? proved, by her husband, who re? quested her to keep her tongue in her mouth.
