Prof. Wilson, of Baltimore, Md., says of
this Ouano: "By a critical examination of
the analysis of the various cargoes you
have imported, a striking feature ia the
great regularity in the per oontage of the
[important constituents essential for the
production of all crops."
Pror. F. A. Qentb, of Philadelphia, Perm.,
says: "xbu Ouano is evidently of animal
origin, and the minute bones which were
discovered in tne same, indicate that it is
the result of the decay of bats, mice. Ao.
The quantity of organfo matter which is
still present is about 12 per cent., and this
yields about 2h per cent, of ammonia. A
portion of the nitrogen is present az nitrio
*cid, of which about 3 percent, were found.
AU tho nitrogen present would be equiva?
lent to about 3| per oent. of ammonia. The
phosphoric acid in the Quaco averaged
about 12| per cent., equal to 27 3 per oent.
of Bone rboaj hato A considerable quan?

Prof. II O Wbite, of tho Georgia State
