A Roman Gatholio priest was lately
sentenced to imprisonment at M?l?
hausen for reviling the Protestant re?
ligion, and another Austrian priest,
the vicar of ] Ober nergheim, has just
been sent to prison for fourteen days
for a like offence. On his trial he as?
sumed a very defiant tone, and had re?
peatedly to be called to order by the
judge. It is remarked that these ex?
cesses are always committed by young
priests.
The remains of the Confederate sol?
diers who fell in the movement on
Washington dnring the late war, and
remain in graves outside of oemeteries,

Grace Church, near Silver Springy,

The Memphis Appeal says: A terri?
ble disease, known as the black death,
has broken out in DeKalb County,
and, defying medical skill, is playing 1
havoc with the population. Able phy?
sicians of Nashville think the disease j
must be bilious dysentery of a fatal
type, similar to that whioh followed
the cholera last year, but not conta?

under the impression that they were
