Smuggling is pursued resolutely on
the Belgian frontier, but W?ysten
Woytard was caught at it the other
day. He attempted to run the line by
driving at full speed, but the custom
house soldier brought down tho horse
with his rifle. There wrs 3600 worth
of tobacoo in the wagon, and the horse
was in armor, and so armed with
knives about the bridle that one could
not have stopped him by hand with
out being cat to piecer.
"Our boy .Fred." says a correspond?
ent, "has a fine lot of hens, and takes
great care of the eggs. One night on
coming homo from sohool, he found
that the oook bad rifled every nest of I
its contents, even to tbe nest eggs.
Fred was in a terrible state of mind,
and sobbed out, 'And ob, father, if [
you'll believe it, Bridget even cooked
up the hens' patterns, and they won't
be able to lay a good shaped egg this '
summer.'"
"What," said a teacher to a pupil,
"makes you feel unoomfortable after
you have done wrong?" . "My pap's
big leather strap," feeliugly replied
the boy.

remarkable medicinal properties of the
"Queen's Delight." No medicine is
so well known and* recognized amoog
eminent physicians as a valuable thera?
peutic, agent as the Queen's Delight.
Some doctors think it ranks next to
calomel in its alterative powers., A
learned dootor thus speaks of it:
"Queen's Delight" seems to exert a
power upon every coll and molecule of
the body, and modifies their func?
tion and condition. It reaehes both
the fluids and solids, and impresses
upon them a curative influence une
qualed by any other medicine. In
chronio diseases of the throat, there is
no agent compared with it in value. It
relieves the cough, obviates the night
sweats, improves the appetite, and
often induces a return to health under
the most unfavorable ciroumstanoes
Iu consumption and bronchial dis
eases, tbe ubo of ''Queen's Delight"
has been marked with signal advan?
tage. Queen's Delight manifests a de?
cided impression ou the mucous mem?
branes, changing their condition by its
alterative powers. Rheumatism, both
acute and chronio, obey promptly the
searching powers of this medicine;
aching limbs and back cease to tor?
ment, oomfort and health is restored.
In diseases of the liver, spleen,
bladder and skin, tbe Queen's Delight
may be used with great benefit. For
the cure of any of the many diseases
incident to tho summer season, it can?
not be excelled, aud we would recom?
mend every family to have a bottle of
it in the boose at all times, in case of
sudden sickness. It is no whiskey or
vinegar preparation, bat a pleasant al?
terative tonio, which has cured thou?
sands and kept tens of thousands in
good health. For dyspepsia and weak
stomach, the liver and kidneys, coughs
and sore throat, the lungs and spitting
of blood, loss of appetite, sick head?
ache, diarrbcoa and dysentery, fever
and ague, bilious fever, cholera morbus
nnd cramps, palpitation of tbe heart,
broken-down nervous system, neural?
gia and rheumatism, purifying the
blood, inflamed and sore eyoe, when
caused by impure state of tbo blood.
