Receipts for the preservation of furs
abound in all papers, but the old plan,
promulgated by Punch long ago, is the
best.|' This is, to pull out all the hairs
with tweezers and varnish the skin.
In the spring, remove the varnish and
carefully stick all the hairs in their old
plaoei.
The Boston Post is opposed to the
proposition to fill the position of con?
ductor of railroads with women.
"Their trains are always behind," says
the Post. Yea, and most women are
bo timid, and. none bnt the brave de?

Seegers' vs. Cincinnati Beer.
THE Cincinnati Gazette niakeH the asto-.
Dialling announcement that Cincinnati'
beer is no longer pure, but adulterated with
molasses, sugar of starch, fusel oil and the
poisonous Colchicum. The Commissioner t f
Agriculture, in his report for 1SG5, says that
Prof. MapoM, of New York, analyzed the beer
from a dozen different breweries, and found
all ot it adulterated. Cocculus Indiens and
nux voniica entered largely into its composi?
tion.
J. C. SFEGERS guarantees his beer to be!
pure and reliable. II?' does not adulterate!
it, but brews from the best barley, malt and
hops. Jim?" !
